Is the Truelearn question bank useful for Step 2
The Truelearn Question Bank is in my opinion, the closest thing to the actual NBME exam. Now having used the Truelearn Question Bank for every single Shelf exam in addition to Step 2 I can honestly that this resource served me much better than Uworld did
I was very impressed with how the test writers atTruelearn created the mock exams. The questions are not only made a bit more difficult than the actual exams, but they are actually VERY similar as well.

Here is a specific example I distinctly remember. One of the topics that the NBME tests a lot is knowing the difference between a Keratocanthoma and a Basal Cell Carcinoma. Before using the Truelearn qbank I kept consistently getting this question wrong. Finally, once I came across a similar question in the Truelearn question bank, not only did the question have a picture of what a keratoacanthoma was, but the explanation also distinctly tells you how the topic will be tested on the NBME USMLE step 2 exam. Once I studied this I never got this question wrong again.
When you’re taking the Truelearn exam it can be discouraging at times because you’ll quickly find out that the questions are extremely detailed oriented and require you to really know your stuff.
here’s what happened in my case. I studied for the Turlearn mock exams with the intention of trying to get over 85% correct. This was quite difficult because you need to really know your stuff to be able to consistently correctly answer the types of questions Truelearn asks.
By doing this I learned certain topics in excruciatingly fine detail and strengthened my understanding of the topics I was pretty weak on.
Overall I would say that if you are between this question bank and Uworld this may be a better choice because it is a much better representation of the actual exam than Uworld albeit much more difficult.
