How to Access the Question Bank
To access the question bank, just click on the tab that says question bank on the top right hand of the page and then click on the organ system you want to be quizzed on.
The other way to access the question Banks id to scroll down to where it says filter by category and then select the questions from the topic you wish to take quiz questions on.
Pros
The pros is that the question bank contains a lot of questions as it has about 1000 questions just on physiological concepts. Another pro is that the resource is 100% free. This however in no way takes away from the quality of the questions as they are still of very high quality.
The platform also contains unique features that normal question banks that you would have to pay for come with. For example, after you answer a quiz question you can see how you performed compared to others that took the quiz.
Additionally the platform has a create a quiz function which allows you to make your own custom quiz and target your weak areas.
Cons
The questions are not written as board style USMLE questions. Additionally there are no accompanying videos to go along with the articles so this is not an ideal resource for someone is an auditory learner.
Question format
The questions are formatted as short sentence multiple choice questions.
Alternatives
Some good alternatives to TeachMe Physiology include
- Picmonic
- Sketchy
- Amboss
- statpearls
- Med School bootcamp.
All of these platforms have high quality physiology questions.
Is there a Spaced Repetition feature?
There is no spaced repetition feature on the Teach Me Physiology Learning Platform.
TeachMePhysiology vs Medbootcamp
Med Bootcamp is another question bank which is more known because of its parent website Anatomy Bootcamp. Medbootcamp however contains other topics such as physiology. As far as question bank quality I believe that Medbootcamp is a better option than TeachMePhysiology. Med bootcamp is more organized and makes navigating through the lesson plans much more easy, which is not necessarily the case with TeachMePhysiology. Additionally Medbootcamp contains lectures in video format, which would make this a better option for someone who is primarily a visual learner. Finally the last reason that Medbootcamp is a better option than TeachMePhysiology is because Medbootcamp contains USMLE board style questions.
When should you buy it?
I recommend buying this before second year of medical school because organ systems sych as Cardio, Pulm, and Endo/Repro contain a lot of Physiology
Should you use it
Yes I highly recommend using Teach Me Physiology. Most of the physiology products on the market cost a lot of money. This is a good option if you are on a tight budget. However, I do not recommend only relying on this question bank because the questions are not written in USMLE style format.
